Vacancy announcement for the position of a Database Expert, a Database Technical Assistant and a contractor for the Regional Database of Mineral Flows. Deadline 22nd October 2017 at 17H Bujumbura time

Background

The International Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) is an intergovernmental organization of 12 Central African government. Its members include Angola, Burundi, the Central African Republic, the Republic of Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan, South Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, and Zambia. The Conference Secretariat is located in Bujumbura, Burundi.

The ICGLR is charged with implementing the Regional Initiative on Fight against the Illegal Exploitation of Natural Resources (RINR). The RINR consist of 6 Tools. One of these tools is the Regional Certification Mechanism (RCM), which applies to flow of four designated minerals - tin, tungsten, tantalum and gold - within and from the  countries of the ICGLR. A second tool is the Regional Database pf Mineral Flows (Regional Database), which is to be integrated into the RCM.

Partnership Africa Canada (PAC), a Canadian non-governmental organnization is providing financial and technical support to the Conference Secretariat and Member States for the development of certain elements of the RCM, including the development of the Regional Database on Mineral Flows.

The ICGLR Secretariat and Partnership Africa Canada are seeking to recruit a Database Expert, a Database technical Assistant and a Contractor  for the Regional Database of Mineral Flows within the framework of the ICGLR Regional Certification Mechanism.
