The Intenrantional Conference on the Great Lakes Region (ICGLR) lauds the decision by the European Union (EU) tolift the financial sanctions imposed on the Republic of Burundi since 2016. This significant move will put Burundi in great stead towards economic development for the good of the Burundian people and to a larger extent, the people of the Great Lakes Region.

It is undeniably a clear indication of the exemplary leadership of the President of the Republic of Burundi, H.E General Evarist Ndayishimiye, who has exerted all efforts with the view to ensuring that the country is on the right path to achieving stability and development, since he took the mantle of the leadeship.
